About
I am a Toronto Litigation & Employment Lawyer and founder of Cuttress Law with United Nations and commercial law firm experience with a proven track record of success in court. I am dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to clients in the areas of litigation and employment law.
I conduct my own trials, which is not the case for all employment lawyers.
I am highly motivated to win and/or achieve the best result in each case, and to litigate cases that result in improvements in the law (e.g. served as plaintiff's counsel in Ramotar v. Trader Corporation which was a win for employees across Ontario).
As a Barrister, I specialise in pleading cases in court and analysing complex civil cases into crisp and compelling scenarios to efficiently meet the needs of diverse clients either in a courtroom or a boardroom. I have been instructed in the Superior Court, Divisional Court, and Small Claims Court.
I have a determined approach to assessing the merits and developing a theory of the case, conducting oral examinations for discovery, providing zealous advocacy at motions and pre-trial conferences, advancing arguments and presenting those arguments in the most effective way at trial. I also have experience identifying issues of risk and points of leverage where others may see none and using this to turn around difficult cases for clients once I am retained.
I am also a Contributor to the Toronto Star newspaper: e.g. 'Will Knicks lawsuit against Raptors be an unwanted distraction?'
